Making Progress

I think I have the banner picked out for the blog.   For my last blog I had a map of the route but now I have such a wide variety of images to chose from, I am able to go with something different.  (The picture used for the current banner was taken by Ellen on the Southern Tier 2008 from a spot she thought was going to be private.)

I am in such a different place now than I was before the last time I rode across the country.  Before, the longest ride I had ever done was 75 miles, I owned two cycling jerseys and had to buy another for the trip, and I really really wasn't sure if I could stand biking day in and day out.  Now I know that I can ride for over a hundred miles, I have to carefully select among my favorite jerseys, and if I get tired of biking one of my new best friends will be happy to give me a ride in a Subaru full of snacks.  Life is good.

I biked 46 miles yesterday and my butt still hurts.  I've got a lot of training left to do.
